A New Baby (or
Inside a Toddler)

Trapped in a maze
Entered through times of change
We wander path to path
Searching for the way out
Barrier after barrier
Fight after fight
We begin to crumble
But we mustn’t give in
We are one, we are love
Together we can conquer the world
And sooner than you think
We will find the way out
Through a more perfect love

You are the sky above me,
And the ground below.
You are the sun shining down,
And the moon aglow.
You are the light that shines
In a tunnel of darkness.
And the song of the bluebird
In the early morn.
You are in my heart and my mind,
My very soul,
You are my love
Forevermore.

A NEW BABY (or INSIDE A TODDLER)
I love my mommy as you can see.
I love my daddy for all he can be.
I love my doggy pillow, too.
I love my horsie and big balloon.
I can’t imagine a life without toys
For me and other girls and boys.
The more I play, the more I learn,
And when dada leaves I can’t wait for
his return.
I have four grandparents that I love
dearly.
They spoil me rotten with candy freely.
I have a new baby on the way.
It stays in mommy’s tummy,
And won’t come out to play.
But mommy says she will come soon,
And I hope I will have my own room.
I don’t want to share any of my toys
With a crying little baby who is no
joy.
But I know mommy will love me no matter
what
And that baby will leave if I want.
At least that’s the way I hope it will
be
When it isn’t just mommy, daddy, and
me.
Oh no!
Now the baby is here.
And the whole house is filled with
cheer.
It’s all for that wrinkled, crying
thing,
And I am getting left out in the rain.
But wait, what is this I hear?
They want me to sit and hold her near.
I guess she is cute, in her own way,
And I’m starting to like her anyway.
This baby is not so bad after all,
Even if she is so very, very small.
Now naptime for her;
It is finally my turn!
Yes, yes, I am not left out at all,
And life is not bad, not bad at all!

The sky is dark
The world sleeps
In winter slumber
Yet I lie awake
Thinking of you
My lost love

Wrapping around me
Keeping me safe and warm
Your voice is comforting
Soothing and relaxing my body
Like no masseuse ever could
Your lips are hot sparks
Pressing mine so intently
Lighting a fire deep within
I am yours alone
Heart, body, and soul
Forever

Your arms are
The embrace of security and
The comfort of home.
Your eyes are
The sea that engulfs me and
The intensity of love.
Your body is
The shield from a storm and
The pleasures of heaven.
You are
The owner of my heart and
The other half of my soul.

I see you in my dreams,
An angel with eyes of blue.
You dance gaily,
A smile on your face
All the while
That could light the darkest hour
Of the darkest night.
I join your dance,
And together we twirl
Forever through time,
Without time,
Paused in a moment,
One true moment
Of love and happiness.

In the cold dark night
Suddenly you enter my life
And I see dawn’s light
A chance for happiness
A risk I must take
Though I’m scared
My heart might break
No longer alone
Until next time
When life runs out of love
And love runs out of rhyme

My soul soars above
The world around
Through the skies
Heaven bound
Overwhelmed by feeling
Wrapped in a blanket of love
Warmer than a summer night
Brighter than the stars above

I dream of you alone
Waiting for your true love
I dream of ecstasy
And arms to hold

My deepest love, I dare not confess
His past torment leaves him in distress
Patience I must have
The words I cannot say
I must keep secret the beating of my
heart
Until such the day comes
That he may at last open his
As he has opened his arms
He must profess his love to me
Then and only then shall I speak
“My heart belongs only to you, my love,
forever”

My heart’s desperate beating for you.
My spirit floats on clouds,
My mind wanders through forests,
My heart flounders in the deepest
oceans,
And only when I find your embrace
Do I at last feel at peace.

Free as a lone dove
My spirit floats upon a cloud
At total peace
My mind wanders through forests
Unable to focus but on one man
Happiness and love are mine at last
All for the gift of you

A crazy distortion of emotions
Run through my soul
I bare myself to you
And you do not run
You bare yourself to me
And I do not flee
We are two strangers
Who met in the night
We walk separate paths
But in the same absence of light
The friendship we have
I would not risk
And mostly I want
No more than this
But the woman in me
Demands something more
Though I try to ignore her
She screams her desire
How much longer can I wait
How much longer can I deny
I fear soon enough
My love will fly
